Police in Zimbabwe have arrested five notorius armed robbers identified as Victor Mubaiwa (38) of number 20 Overspill Epworth, Norman Muchemwa (38) of number 11B Matererini Flats Mbare, Bernard Kurira (34) of number 8B Matererini Flats, Moffat Phiri (34) and Joshua Mutizirwa (38) of block 5A Matererini Flats.
Police from Mbare Police section raided block 5A Matererini Flats and recovered knives, knobkerries, chisel, four okapi, two Samsung galaxy cellphones and axes that were used by these robbers to attack residents and break houses in the suburbs at night.
Police said the five were arrested after recieving reports that people were living in for they were robbing them along Northway and Ceres Roads in Waterfalls.
Media reports in Zimbabwe indicates that police officers ambushed the five robbers on May 29, 2017 at around 2300 hours in a bushy area along Ceres Avenue. This place is described by many as a no go zone for people because it is usually frequented by robbers who attack unsuspecting people.
All five robbers will appear before court to answer various charges levelled against them.
Meanwhile Police have warned all would-be perpetrators of such acts that the long arm of the law will take its cause.
