The court heard that on June 26, 2017 Karonga Police arrested illegal immigrants from Ethiopia at Katiri area in the area of Paramount Chief Kyungu in the district.

Malawians Annoyed By Chester Yamikani’s Code Of Dressing During The Cosafa Game.

A photo of the Malawian midfielder Yamikani Chester of folding his shorts and pulling it up so badly during a game between Flames and Mauritius has gone viral on social media.

Yamikani Chester who came in from the bench in 67th minute replacing Micium was seen folding his pants leaving the label hanging outside.

Some football fans were quoted saying as a footballer he is supposed to look neat in the field of play not as he did. They called his actions as “embarassing” to the football world.

On Tuesday the Flames locked horns with Mauritius a game which they shared the spoils. Flames striking force through Jabulani Linje, Bokosi and Micium Mhone failed to utilise the chances they created during the 90 minutes of the game.

Throughout the game Flames created better chances than their rivals Mauritius but the blunt striking force made the game to finish at 0-0.

The Malawi national team has a slim chance of qualifying from their group as they have only collected 1 point from two games they have played so far. Tanzania who were playing Angola in another group A match are holding the first position with four points followed by Angola with four points.

Malawi and Mauritius are lying on position three and four respectively after collecting a point a piece.

Flames’ last game will be against Angola on Thursday and mathematically the Flames should beat Angola with almost 2 or 3 goals to nill and pray that Tanzania should draw or beat Mauritius to qualify from their group.

Malawian Gospel Artist “Shamuda Drake” To Release His First Album In July.

Malawians should expect the best gospel hit songs composed by the upcoming gospel artist Shamuda Drake.

Drake, the gospel artist from Nkhata Bay district told News Watch Reviews that time has arrived to show Malawians his musical talent bestowed upon him by God.

According to Shamuda, he grew up spiritually with Christian parents and baptised in Anglican Church, Blantyre, Malawi in the early 80s.

During his childhood days, Drake took part in so many activities at Church one being part of the choir group.

“In 1981 my parents moved from Blantyre to Nkhata Bay, where I joined choir membership in 1990s at Chintheche Anglican and Msuli Anglican respectively. This increased my ambitions of being one of the gospel music star in Malawi”, said Drake.

Drake who also holds Diploma in HIV/AIDS Management (ABMA) and Diploma in Journalism he obtained from Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) said in 2010 he started this music project at Tluso with a producer called George and released two songs; “Agowokiyeni” (which means forgive them) and Mighty Power. The music was loved by locals but local media houses did not play them on air.

“I was disappointed and dumped the music project. In 2015 I started following up my copies and I discovered that media houses did not keep them and they were nowhere to be found”, he said.

After this discovery the gospel musician went back to the drawing board and collected his music diaries. Lucky enough he found them and he thought of going back to a recording studio with a different producer, Dan Salaka (Great Dan) of Likoma Island who encouraged him and appreciated his talent.

“Great Dan, took over the project to come up with a ten track album titled “Agowokiyeni”.

This title talks about forgivenes. When you have Jesus, it is easy to forgive others” hence the tittle Lord forgive them (Agowokiyeni in Tonga), for they do not know what there are doing.

So far three songs are out:

1.Agowokiyeni.

2.Mighty Power and,

3. Ali ngati Msodzi.

He said his inspiration in gospel music career is the late Senzo Mtetwa and back home Chitheka family.

Meanwhile Shamuda is advising young Malawians who are having a vision and ambitions of being gospel musicians not to be discouraged with what happens in their lives, but they should focus and their dreams will be achieved.

“The changes have been made according to the game plan for this particular game. It doesn’t mean thise who have been droped from the first team are in a bad shape. This is a must win game for us as it will determine our destiny”, said RVG.

The Belgian tactician said that they are not going to change the style of play but they will continue passing around while building up meaningful attacks.

“The idea is to avoid giving the opponents respect but taking the game right to them from the start.

President Magufuli Talks Tough On Teen Mothers; We will Not Allow You To Go Back To School.

The president of Tanzania, Dr. John Chapombe Magufuli has issued a tough statement on teen mothers that their time of going back to school after giving birth has come to a climax.

The president was addressing a public rally in Chalinze town and he told them that during his reign he won’t allow pregnant students or those who have given birth back to school because they can easily manipulate other students.

“I will not allow them to go back to our government schools if they are pregnant because its easy for them to manipulate other students to do the same. What lesson will they give to other students..?”, retaliated Magufuli.

He added, “if we leave them like this they will keep on bearing children while at school because this game is very nice”, he said.

He has further asked those NGO’s who defend these teen mothers to build schools for those parents so that they should be learning things pertaining to their way of life.

“During my time as a president, just pray that this doesn’t happen to you, if it does then thats a goodbye to education you will not return to our government schols”, he said.

He also talked about men who will be possible for the teens pregnancies that they will face a long time jail term.

“Those men responsible for the pregnancy should be imprisoned for 30 years and put the energy he used to impregnate the girl into farming while in jail”, he concluded.

Most of the Tanzanians have supported the decission taken by the president saying that this will help students to concentrate on education than socialising in their communities.

The Malawi national team, populary known as the “Flames” arrived at their base Kedar Heritage Lodge around 4 pm on Thursday to participate in the Cosafa cup which will be hosted in South Africa.

During the 2016 Cosafa cup, the Flames managed to win the Cosafa plate only after beating the host Bafana Bafana on penalties. This years tournament is another test for the newly appointed coach RVG.

The Flames is in group A alongside Angola, Mauritius and Tanzania . Their firdt test of the campaign will be on Sunday against their neighbours, Taifa Stars of Tanzania at Moruleng Stadium before facing Mauritius on Tuesday at Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace and wrapping up their group match with Angola on Thursday.

After arriving in South Africa, Ronny Van Geneudgen said he is happy with the setup and the reception offered by the host nation

“We traveled very well and we are staying at a good lodge away from town which is good for the boys to concentrate,” he said.

RVG further said that the players are in good shape and they are ready to take the challenge ahead of them and bring the cup home.

The Flames has travelled to South Africa without its South African based players who have not been released by their clubs after claiming that the tournament did not fall on FIFA calendar.

“The bus was being driven from Lilongwe enroute to Blantyre along M1 road. Upon arrival at Zalewa Turn-off due to over speeding the said driver failed to negotiate a corner and swerved to offside where it fell down sideways and its offside part dented”, said Kaliati.

Who Will Rescue The Former Flames Player “Noel Mkandawire” From His Sickness..?

During the previous weeks, online networking has been sharing news about former Malawian national team players who were once the back bone in the nation however have ended up being in a hopelessness state.

The news surfaced after some of the players who contributed much to Malawian football have either ended up as being street beggers or broke.

But the present news which has attracted alot of people is about Noel Mkandawire who has been confined to bed for some time now and he needs a hand which would be able to pull him out of the situation he is currently facing.

Noel is currently addmitted at Mzimba hospital battling for his life and reports reaching News Watch Reviews have established that he has a liver problem which is causing his stomach to swell and his left leg is swollen with a possible cancerous diagnosis.

Some well wishers have begun extending their hands to help the forgotten and abandoned Flames player. One of the person who paid a courtesy visit to the player is the former Flames legend and Mbeya City mentor Kinnah Phiri who gave him a few things and money to the player.

Right now Noel Mkandawire is looking for an assistance as he can’t walk or do anything which can help him get out of the bed. Noel is dying physically, emotionally and financially in hospital.

As we are on the same issue about players in Malawi who are living in a hopeless circumstance after their carreers, a few commentators have faulted the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) for neglecting to help the players who are in need after their carreers.

These analysts says that its the obligation of FAM to take care of the players amid their football carreers by helping them in giving reasonable necessities like insuring them or encouraging clubs to pay them better salaries so that by the end of the day they ought to have a source of income to live on.

Some of the people have thrown their blame on player’s agents for utilizing players to get what they want and later on dump them without helping them in their everyday life by encouraging them how to serve something for their future.

After doing some research on a similar issue, this publication found some remarks from two former football legends in Malawi, Lawrence Waya and Acton Munthali who have asked players to play soccer and at the same time go to class.

These two said after football they will be able to do something if they are educated. They further said when someone has gone to school, they will understand the clauses in their contracts and they can inquire about the things which have been written in their contracts before signing them

It is on record that most of the players in Malawi just concentrate on football as their life carreer and they don’t considerably try to include another carreer apart from being footballers.

The first grade magistrate court sitting in Mchinji recently convicted and sentenced a renowned Mchinji based businessman to pay a fine of K10,000 for implicating police officers to have stolen his K15 Million cash.

The court through state prosecutor Sergeant Chipiriro Kalimira heard that the businessman commonly known as Chitipa but bearing real names of Eckson Mbughi, 31 and two others were arrested on June 12, 2017.

“On the day of his arrest Chitipa sent two of his employees Limbani Guma, 43 and his Driver Wedi Mulenga, 26 to Lilongwe where they collected cash amounting to MK15,000 000”.

Three people were intercepted and all admitted the charge before His Worship First Grade Magistrate Major Phiri who found all of them guilty of the charge.

Court sitting in Nkhata Bay the Northern district of Malawi has sentenced a 21 year old man by the name Gift Lungu to five years imprisonment with hard after he was found guilty for abducting a 16 year old girl at Likoma district.

Nkhata Bay Police Publist Ignatius Esau said Gift Lungu was working as a Social Welfare Officer at Likoma district and he was having an affair with a 16 year old girl.

“On the night of 26-27 May 2017, he took the girl to his house where together they spent a night. The girl’s parents lodged a complaint at Likoma police and later the girl was found at Lungu’s house. Police immediately arrested Lungu and charged him with the offence of abduction which is contrary to section 78 of Child Care Protection and Justice Act”, said Esau.

During his first court appearance, Lungu denied the charge and the state paraded three witnesses and on June 13, 2017, Lungu was convicted.

In mitigation, besides telling the court that he is an orphan, the convict also said he takes care of his grandmother.

When passing sentence, Nkhata Bay First Grade Magistrate Anthony Banda noted with concern that being a social welfare officer, the convict would have been one of the people championing the protection of children’s rights but instead he has turned out to be a threat to them and as such, he concured with the state through Sergeant Keston Chiona that the convict deserved a stiffer punishment.

He was therefore sentenced to five years imprisonment with hard labour by the presiding magistrate.

Gift Lungu hails from Katumbi village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Katumbi in Rumphi district.

The Untold Story Of Honourable Richard Msowoya; Speaker Of Parliament.

The Untold Story Of Honourable Richard Msowoya; Speaker Of Parliament.

There is a saying which goes; “heroes are not made but they are born”. This saying suits well with the story of Honourable Richard Msowoya who is the Speaker of the national assembly in Malawi.

Mr Richard is also the first vice president of the main opposition party in Malawi, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

The educational background of the famous leader in Malawi has a leaf to pluck off by most Malawians who have met different circumstances during their educational journeys and life as a whole.

His inspirational story starts with his early primary school days where he narrates how he repeated standards 1 to 4 at Nyungwe due to variety of reasons.

“I repeated standard 1 twice and standard 2 once because I missed the exam. I had gone to play with friends. My late friend Patrick Maxwell and Andrew Harvey both came from well to do families and had all sorts of toys to play with”, said Mr Msowoya.

Mr Msowoya decided to put much effort on his studies and managed to pass standard 3 at one go and moved on to standard 4.

While in Standard 4, a girl from Zimbabwe by the name Chrissie Mwazolokere joined them. Chrissie was very brilliant and upon joining their class no-one could reach her level of knowledge as she was always number one.

In those days, number one to three used to get gifts of pencils, books etc. from the teachers who were back then the local role models and were very highly regarded.

Chrissie’s brilliance made him and other boys to gang up and find out whats the secret behind her intellectual understanding in class.

It is at this time when their teacher, Mr. Majimaji Munthali allocated him in a reading group led by Chrissie who positively influenced him and he began to like reading those old books about Kalulu and other animals, Timve and Tsala.

This develpment paid off and in the second term of standard 4 he outsmarted other classmates and became a rival to Chrissie by passing number two while Chrissie was the first in class.

As a boy growing in rural areas, cattle-herding was still his favourite activity and he would even skip school to join fellow cattle-herders in the village.

During the final term in standard 4, Honourable Msowoya says he can’t remember if it was him who came first or Chrissie, but he remembers very well that there was another opponent in the classroom battle by the name Gibson Mwalweni who was a regular in the top three.

After passing standard 4, his brother Oliver who came for holidays saw some potential and playfulness in him and asked his father that he should go and live under his supervision.

They agreed and he did standard 5 and 6 under his brother’s supervision and then later went back to Karonga for standard 7.

It was at this point that he met Emily, his wife and they have been together since then.

Msowoya’s background and social interactions to this point predisposed him to having a fun-loving, outgoing nature, and he has always gravitated naturally towards activities that ignite the soul and stimulate the mind.

Msowoya quoted A.C Grayling; – “To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experiences and the fruits of many inquiries.”

Reading books of all kinds has been his best hobby – novels, autobiographies of people who have made a mark on life etc.

As a young boy, his favorite book was James Hardley Chase. The last James Hardley Chase novel that I read was “My laugh” which he quoted these words;

At the beginning of the story, the author asks,

“Do you know how they catch monkeys in Brazil?”

And then he explains:

“They put a nut in a bottle. When a monkey sees the nut, it inserts its hand to grab the nut.

“Grabbing the nut means that the monkey’s fingers ball up in a fist and hence, it cannot extract its hand.

“Even when the hunter comes, because of greed the monkey doesn’t let go. It gets caught and is eventually killed.”

From such books, he says he learnt a lot among other things, about some of the negative effects of greed.

Mr Richard Msowoya is urging all parents to do more than sending their children to school. Parents should also encourage our children to read widely.

His inspirational story opens the door to every person who wants to pursue his or her dreams. Working hard is the only way to achieve your desired goal in life.

He has also inspired those who have fallen in love or they those who are trying to find their partners that loving someone because of what he or she has is not true love, but love comes from deep down your heart. Adore the person you have, cherish good times and bad times together in so doing you are making a good and strong bond.

From the look of things, even though he was occupied by other things as a village boy, but he went through those circumstances and became the leader of all.

His advice, education is the foundation of everyone’s future. Work hard and attain that dream you have.

A few people do well with them and surveys can be blended quite recently like with most different sorts of arrangements. For the greater part of us a chin strap isn’t the best choice accessible. I think the purpose for this is a great many people who attempt them are not open mouth snorers.

On the off chance that you are an open mouth snorer begin looking at my surveys of all the anti snoring chin straps.

As a young boy, his favorite book was James Hardley Chase. The last James Hardley Chase novel that I read was “My laugh” which he quoted these words;
