ANC Youth League Endorses Nkosazane Dlamini Zuma As A Presidential Candidate

After organising a National Executive Committee meeting over the weekend, the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) have endorsed their favourite candidates who they think can bring economic transformation in South Africa.

The most talking point is the endorsement of the former incumbent president’s wife, Nkosazane Dlamini Zuma to take over the reigns from President Zuma in the coming ANC convention in December.

During the press briefing on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Lithuli House,  the ANCYL secretary general Njabulo Nzuza told the media that the names they have table will bring radical economic transformation in the country.

Nzuza said their first priority on the transformation is the issue of land expropriation without compensation, free and quality education and improving  the quality of public healthcare.

The African National Congress Youth League have endorsed  the following candidates to be considered during the ANC national convention which will take place in December.

Nkosazane Dlamini-Zuma as the ANC president

David Mabuza as the ANC deputy president

Ace Magashule as the ANC secretary general

Nathi Mthethwa as the ANC national chairperson

Deputy secretary general for monitoring and evaluation‚ Jessie Duarte

Deputy secretary general for organising and campaigns‚ Fikile Mbalula.

Maite Nkoana-Mashabane as treasurer general.

The youth league also suggested that the ruling party should have two deputy secretaries general to deal with issues of monitoring‚ evaluation and campaigns and also a second vice president.

The endorsement of Nkosazane Zuma has arrived at a point that their are mixed views in the ANC whereby some are thinking of the current deputy president C. Ramaphosa to take over from Jacob Zuma as the ANC president.

During the African National Congress Womens League meeting which was held last, they also recommended that women should also be empowered by giving them the first five positions in the government.

The endorsement of Nkosazane Zuma by the ANCYL has boosted the morale in womens league camp.
